What’s New At TLF?

Insperity Health & Wellness Fair — Oct 7, 10 AM–1 PM
We’re thrilled to join Insperity’s corporate Health and Wellness Fair to share information about liver health with their fabulous employees. We’ve also teamed up with Pinnacle Research to offer free liver scans to attendees. If you’re one of our Insperity friends, stop by and say hello—we’d love to see you!

Salud America! Webinar — Oct 9
On Wednesday, we’ll join UT Health San Antonio to discuss the importance of patient advocacy groups in the final session of their Salud America! collaboration. (More details and registration info will be in our Hep Happenings section below!)

Christmas in September Fundraiser
If you’d like to support our holiday fundraiser for hospitalized pediatric patients, visit our donation page. The first ten care packages have already been requested for transplant kiddos in San Antonio—thank you for helping us bring some cheer to these amazing children.

Meador Elementary Halloween Event — Oct 30
We’ll be joining Meador Elementary in Pasadena ISD for their annual Halloween celebration! If you’re a Meador Family, swing by our booth for candy-free treats, fun surprises, and a reminder that taking care of your health isn’t so scary.

Need a Little Extra Support?
Don’t forget—our support groups and Bravery Bag request form are always open to community members who could use a little encouragement this season.

Story Of The Month

Clear Lake Liver Walk — A Spooktacular Day for Liver Health!

We’re gearing up for the 1st Annual Clear Lake Liver Walk!
Join us at Clear Lake Park (Landolt Pavilion, 5002 E NASA Pkwy, Seabrook, TX 77586) for a Halloween-themed morning filled with music, movement, and meaning.

Our fabulous DJ will keep the energy high with live music (yes, live!), and we’ll have plenty of snacks, a Halloween costume contest, and hear an inspirational patient story that reminds us why this walk matters. It’s a celebration of liver health, community, and hope — with just the right amount of spooky fun.

Be sure to register today so we know to expect you! Registration is free, and donations can be made right from the event page.

There are still a few sponsorship opportunities available — if your company would like to support this meaningful (and memorable!) event, please reach out to jen.butler@texasliverfoundation.org.

Come walk, dance, and celebrate with us — it’s going to be frightfully fun!

SWAP of the Month

Fall tends to sneak up fast. Between school events, work deadlines, and the start of “holiday everything,” it’s easy to find yourself saying “Let’s just grab takeout.”

This month, we’re reclaiming those busy weeknights with simple, hearty slow cooker meals that practically make themselves. Just toss in your ingredients in the morning, and by dinnertime you’ve got something warm, nourishing, and stress-free waiting for you.

Here are two of our favorites:
Slow Cooker Vegetarian Lentil Chili — hearty, high in fiber, and full of flavor (no one will miss the meat).
Slow Cooker Creamy Vegetable Chicken Stew — cozy comfort food that’s also packed with nutrients.

Want something a little spookier? If you’re looking for healthy Halloween inspiration, we’ve got you covered. Revisit our past favorite: Candy-Free Halloween Treat Swaps.

No tricks, just treats that love your liver (and your schedule).

Tried this SWAP and loved (or hated) it? Have an idea for a SWAP that you’d like us to try? We’d love to hear about it!
