United Way:
If you’re in the Clear Lake area, come and see us THIS FRIDAY, Sept 5, at the United Way Bay Area for the Bay Area Center Health and Wellness Fair. We will be partnering with our friends at Apex again to offer free liver screenings, but participants will also be able to take advantage of several other free screenings and health checks. The fair is from 10:00am until 1:00 pm, and the address is 1300 Bay Area Blvd A, Houston TX, 77058.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony:
Also happening in the Clear Lake Area – On September 11 between 11:30am-12:00pm the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate our partnership. For more information, including address and registration, visit this page.
HCC Lunch and Learn:
Dallas Area Folks: On September 27 between 10:00am until 3:00pm, we will be joining our friends at Blue Faery, The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association for a lunch and learn on HCC. This event is free to the public and will be filled with valuable information and critical education about liver cancer. For more information visit https://www.bluefaery.org/hcc-lunch-learn.
Support Groups:
Don’t forget about our support groups! We are now hosting 3 virtual monthly support groups (Pre/Post Transplant, Caregiver Support, Living Liver Donor) and we love hearing your stories. It can be tough to find someone who can relate to your situation when you are fighting liver disease or considering live organ donation, and we aim to facilitate peer support that will you find community (and hear from others who have been through exactly what you’re going through). For more info on all of our groups, click here.
Clear Lake Liver Walk:
We’re so excited to launch our 1st Clear Lake Liver Walk and registration is officially open! The first 50 registrants to donate $50 or more receive a free t-shirt. For more info, visit our event page by clicking here. If you’d like more information on how to sponsor or support the walk, reach out to us here!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Texas Liver Foundation! Join us this month for Christmas In September, our most beloved fundraiser and our effort to help put smiles on faces of children who will be spending the holidays battling liver disease. Our goal for this campaign is to provide holiday care packages to 20 hospitalized children and their caregivers. Each care package includes:

Last year we were able to serve kids all around Texas and we want to do even more this year. The feedback we receive proves why this is such an important campaign for us. One mom told us that her daughter had been avoiding using the word “liver” or talking about livers until she saw her cuddly plushie (which she promptly named Miss L). The plushies work their magic and the food delivery brings some much needed relief to parents who are struggling to hold all of the pieces together for their kiddos. We need your help more than ever this year, and we hope you’ll help us reach our goal! To contribute, click the button underneath the pictures of some of last year’s recipients. Thank you for helping us spread a little extra holiday magic this year!

Game Day – The Healthy Way
Football season is here—which means plenty of watch parties, tailgates, and tempting snacks. But game-day food doesn’t have to weigh you down. This month’s SWAP is about trading in some classic football bites for healthier, just-as-delicious alternatives:
Fried wings → Baked or air-fried wings: Still crispy, still saucy, but without the extra grease. For a plant-based twist, try cauliflower “wings.” (recipe for air fryer wings HERE)
Queso dip → Veggie-based queso: Blend roasted cauliflower or butternut squash with spices and nutritional yeast for a creamy, cheesy-tasting dip that’s lower in fat and higher in nutrients. (recipe for roasted cauliflower queso HERE)
Chips & dip → Veggie dippers & hummus: Keep the crunch but add color with carrots, cucumber, or bell pepper strips alongside your favorite dip.
Beer every round → Mocktail rotation: Mix in sparkling water with lime or a fun non-alcoholic mocktail between drinks to give your liver a breather.
Small swaps keep the flavor and fun—without the post-game slump.
The liver produces bile, a fluid that helps digest fats and remove waste products from the body.
