What’s New At TLF?
We are ready for our fall programming!
In addition to our standard community and school health fairs, we will be busy mapping out Phase 2 of our Early Detection Information Campaign! This campaign will focus on delivering early screening tools targeting pediatric cholestatic liver disease patients and family friendly liver health information to pediatric offices across Texas.
Don’t forget โ
Texas Liver Foundation hostsย three monthly virtual support groups.ย Our support groups (or support circles, as I like to call them) dive into discussions about surgery, life before and after transplant, the invisible workload of caregivers, navigating difficult emotions, and more. If you are a living liver donor, liver transplant recipient, or a caregiver of a liver disease/transplant patient, we encourage you to join. The sense of community and belonging in our groups is special and new friendships are formed each month. Clickย HEREย for more information.
Ourย bravery bag programย runs year round. Bravery Bags are care packages for liver disease patients or living liver donors. Click this link to request one.

Story Of The Month
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Texas Liver Foundation is THRILLED to launch our favorite annual fundraiser: Christmas In September! Christmas in September is a campaign geared towards pediatric liver disease/transplant patients who are spending some or all of their holiday season in the hospital (or in and out of doctor visits). We started this campaign to help make a scary time a little less scary, and lot more joyful.
Money raised for Christmas In September will go to specialized bravery bags, which will include all of the traditional care items, as well as a Nerdbugs Liver Plushie and a $50-$100 gift card for food delivery so that caregivers can have at least one meal brought to their door.
This year, we hope to serve at least 20 kiddos! With your help, we know we can do it! If you’d like to help us spread a little extra holiday cheer this year, click the button below!

SWAP of the Month
SWAP of the Month: Buffalo Cauliflower Bites
It’s almost football season and you know what that means – it’s almost party food season as well! Don’t get so swept away keeping score that you lose points with your liver. While we wouldn’t dare tray to take away ALL of your football snacks, we can suggest a delicious, easy, and nutritions SWAP for one fried traditional party food favorite. We foundย this recipeย for buffalo cauliflower wings that is quick, easy, nutritious, and packed with flavor.ย
Ingredients
1 large head cauliflower (about 5 cups when chopped)
1 egg
1 cup almond flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 cup buffalo sauce, we like The New Primal
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425ยฐF (or air fryer to 350ยฐF) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Chop a large head of cauliflower into florets, about 5 cups of chopped cauliflower.
Whisk eggs in a dish and add cauliflower. Toss to coat.
Mix almond flour, salt, and garlic powder in a small dish and add to cauliflower until completely coated.
Place cauliflower in a flat layer on baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes (15 minutes if air frying, turning halfway) or until lightly brown.
Remove and let cool for 5 minutes.
Pour 1 cup of buffalo sauce over top of cauliflower and toss to coat.
Broil for about 5 minutes, and serve immediately.
Enjoy!
Tried this SWAP and loved (or hated) it? Have an idea for a SWAP that you’d like us to try? We’d love to hearabout it!
