Texas Liver Walk, What’s My ALT?

The Event

On May 7, 2022 we had a fun morning of music, movement and education at beautiful Memorial Park! More than 200 walkers included patients, families and friends, healthcare providers and our wonderful sponsors!

What’s my ALT?

In the next decade, this may be the most important question for the health of our community. Did you know, liver should be awarded MVP status in the game of life? It performs 500 functions that help keep the body healthy. To monitor liver health, you can check your alanine aminotransferase (ALT) through a simple blood test. When your liver is damaged or inflamed, ALT is released into the bloodstream. A high ALT blood level may indicate a liver problem. What can you do now to keep your ALT in a good range?
